Don't do it. I have a really good imagination, gruesome and somewhat abnormal that disturbs sensitive folk. haha. I can always construct the scenes of stories well and this particular lovecraft story makes for a bizarre disturbing movie in my mind.

I love the addition of the banjo, it really gives me that dark backwoods kind of vibe. How this guy still get jobs. I just can't wait to finally see this.

For one, the body horror elements is unsettling with the great practical effects and strange noises. Two, Nicolas Cage goes full Nicolas Cage in this, some scenes he's talking in a weird accent, some he's screaming and going mad. It sometimes takes away the seriousness of the movie, but it makes the movie fun to watch at the same time. Three, the visuals are very psychedelic and strange. It's a real trippy yet creepy movie, a modern day take on Lovecraft's strange blend of psychological and science fiction horror. It's great to see Richard Stanley return. I kind of love this movie. Definitely the best January horror movie of 2020. This is definitely a future cult classic. It's not for everyone though.
